One of the great things about CashMagnet is that it works well with
older versions of Android while many other GPT apps do not. For example,
Android 4.4 (KitKat) won’t work with Swagbucks video apps and only works with
some Perk apps. But as well as CashMagnet runs on my older Samsung Galaxy Core
Primes running KitKat, there’s at least one notable limitation
Getting to Level 6
According to CashMagnet, one of the advantages of leveling up in
CashMagnet is the ability to earn more money. According to the “Levels” tab in
the app, getting to a higher level allowing greater earnings, whether it’s through
passive earning or tasks, like Watch & Install.
But another major advantage of leveling up is the level up bonus. For
example, going from Level 4 to Level 5 provides a 700 (which amounts to about
70 cents) bonus. And going from Level 5 to Level 6 provides a 1,000 (last time
I got this bonus), which equals to roughly $1 in real money.
However, when using KitKat, you can’t get to Level 6. When you earn
enough points in CashMagnet to go from Level 5 to Level 6, you get this screen
when trying to add a Google account to level up:

CashMagnet claims that you’ll still be able to get to Level 7 or 8, but I haven’t seen the opportunity to go from Level 6 to level 7 on my other phones in many months despite CashMagnet saying it will eventually be available. So who knows if the promise of KitKat working on later levels means anything. Only time will tell, I suppose.
Conclusion
Despite this limitation in using a KitKat Android phone with
CashMagnet, you should still use the app and this old mobile operating system.
You can easily find these phones for free (or really cheap, as in $5 or less)
in new or refurbished condition from certain mobile phone companies or at
yardsales or thrift stores. You can probably have a friend or relative to give
you their old phone for free since it’s not usually worth selling online and
will only take up space in a drawer or cabinet.
