Review Update: CashMagnet

CashMagnet is one of the best passive GPT apps in current operation. It has its bugs, issues and growing pains, which means software and policy updates are frequent. The purpose of this short blog post is to provide information on what you can currently expect with the app as of the upload date of this post.

Payment Timeline

When I first started using CashMagnet, I was getting payment within 72 hours of making my request. Most of the time, it took 2 days. Once, I even got it within minutes. However, the most recent redemption request took about 2 weeks.

When I contacted technical support, I was told that some of CashMagnet’s sponsors are paying out 1 to 1.5 months after CashMagnet has provided its promised services. But many users will ask for payment within days of weeks of earning enough points. This means cash flow issues are inevitable.

Personally, I don’t mind waiting longer for my payment, as long as I am given an honest answer as to how long it will take and I actually get paid. However, it doesn’t look like CashMagnet has updated its website and it still says users should be paid within 48 hours of making the request.

Facebook

CashMagnet wants to interact with its users through a Facebook group. I haven’t joined, and I doubt I will. However, I find this development interesting. My guess is that they want user feedback, but only from people who actually use the app for an extended period of time. For example, on Reddit, anyone can say anything about their CashMagnet issues, even if they have never used the app. I’m guessing this Facebook group is invitation only, so CashMagnet can choose who will be making comments and asking questions about the app.

Leveling Requirements

These seem to change frequently. The newest one is for going from Level 4 to Level 5. My Samsung J1 (Luna) phone must now earn 15,000 with that particular phone before going to Level 5. This is definitely a new requirement because with my S6 Active, after getting all 5 of my Watch and Install tasks completed, I was previously given the “add another account to the phone” requirement instead.

Current Issues

One persistent issue I’ve been having are my apps constantly needing permissions. The CashMagnet app still runs and earns money, but I know my earnings are reduced because these apps don’t have the proper permissions, even though I’ve provided them by both clicking “ok” when the app runs and by granting full permissions in the app’s settings.

I’m sure CashMagnet will fix this issue soon, as most issues are eventually fixed. It’s still annoying though.

Another issue is when the server is down (I presume that's what the problem is). When this happens, you can’t log into the CashMagnet app and you get a “server unavailable” window pop up. This doesn’t happen often, but it’s something I see every week or 2. It’s typically resolved by the next day, in my experience.

Conclusion

I still like CashMagnet and encourage anyone looking for passive income to try it. Just keep in mind that it’s constantly getting updates, so don’t be surprised if you see some changes in the near future.
