If you’ve been searching the Internet for ways to make a little bit of extra cash or beer money in your spare time, you’ve probably come across the term, “GPT.” But what is it and how does it work?
What Is GPT?
GPT stands for Get Paid To and refers to special online programs that pay users to do…something. What is this “something?” It can be almost anything, but commonly refers to:
• Taking surveys.
• Watching videos.
• Signing up for offers.
• Purchasing products or services.
• Completing small, relatively mundane jobs and tasks.
• Playing games.
• Downloading and installing software or apps.
• Clicking or viewing ads.
• Shopping.
• Loaning your smartphone to companies who use it for distributed computing tasks.
Examples of popular GPT sites and programs include:
• Swagbucks
• CashMagnet
• EarnHoney
• Perk
• instaGC
• Bing
• Slidejoy
To earn this beer money, all you need is a broadband Internet connection and device, such as a smartphone or laptop.
This Sounds Great. What’s the Catch?
The “catch” is that you don’t get rich making money from GPT websites and apps. You may hear about people making more than $1,000 per month through GPT sources, but this is very difficult to do on a consistent basis. It usually requires bending or pushing the rules and essentially turning it into a full-time job. And if there isn’t a catch, other people soon catch on and before you know it, too many people are making too much money so changes are implemented by GPT providers, which drastically reduce the earning potential.
But if you’re willing to learn just a few “tricks of the trade” and not push things too hard or too far, you can make enough to pay a few bills every now and then. So the typical GPT user will earn just enough to pay for a few nice meals per month or have an occasional splurge at Amazon.com or the nearby shopping mall every once in a while.
There’s almost an “art” to making money online through a GPT program. As you spend time doing it, you’ll learn things that the GPT site won’t or can’t tell you and realize what work and what doesn’t. That’s where this blog comes in, to provide the “here’s how it really works” explanation and advice. Hopefully by reading this blog, I’ll shorten your learning curve and help you make extra money faster and more easily.
Each week I’ll upload a few blog posts that will hopefully teach you something new or save you a bit of time in your GPT endeavors. It might be an explanation of how something works, a review of a program or app, an opinion piece or an invitation for a discussion on a particular GPT, pin money or beer money subject. Regardless of the topic, my goal is for you to have either an “oh, so that’s how that works” moment or encourage you to try a new strategy for making money online.
